TITLE: Principal

           

QUALIFICATIONS:              

• Master’s Degree
• Valid Administrator or Principal Certificate
• Minimum of two years, five years preferred, successful school administration experience.

 

REPORTS TO: Superintendent

                       

JOB GOAL: Direct and manage instructional program and supervise operations and personnel at campus level.  Provide leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service and a positive school climate.  Oversee compliance with district policies, success of instructional programs, and operation of all campus activities.

 

MAJOR DUTIES:

1. Promotes student learning and achievement
2. Coordinates building staff development activities to ensure that professional growth takes place among staff members
3. Coordinates activities to ensure that the campus instructional goals and objectives are achieved
4. Works with individual teachers to ensure that the instructional goals of the district are achieved
5. Establishes high expectations of student achievement
6. Implements the school discipline plan that contributes to a school climate conducive to learning
7. Maintains a high level of student school attendance
8. Carries out appraisal and supervision of employees in an efficient manner
9. Participates in after school activity supervision
10. Performs other duties as assigned

 

TERM:                       Twelve months

 

SALARY:                  Commensurate with experience and district salary schedule
